Yeah, like I said, I intend on going eventually. Another factor is I didn't take high school seriously at the time and my grades suffered because of it. Things like that come back to bite you in the ass. |

Weed was pretty much the only "drug" there. Didn't see anything else going on. Oh and there was a coke addict as well. |

it's fucked up that i didnt try, im going to be a senior next year, but all my grades were in the 90s besides math... and I even went to a great high school and the college i want to go in does extra work for kids from jesuit high schools.. so ill get in easily and cheap/free. i sorta regret not trying but as long as i do try in college it wont matter :/ |

I only tried in Grade 11/12 for Highschool. My first semester of College, well.... I was having too much fun to really care that much. |
#18809 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
I don't like weed for myself, I just dont understand the point of having fun outside of reality. Im not against it when friends do it, but when its obvious thats all they do for fun then yeah it's annoying as fuck and that makes me realize the uselessness of it, and it's like.. wow uncool thing to do. |
#18810 6Randy9 Member Posted 13 years ago |
I like weed and alcohol. Alot actually. |
#18813 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
i mean i can see how its ok, and fun, but if you see what im saying, im not at a point where i wanna do that. do u see anything wrong with weed and drinking? |
#18815 6Randy9 Member Posted 13 years ago |
I never really got into anything besides drinking. Which kind of surprises me because I grew up an inner-city school, where there was the stereotypical very minute white population (hint: I'm white). Guess it was just never my thing, but I have nothing against anyone who does. To each his/her own. |
#18816 StackOverflow Key Master Posted 13 years ago |
i'm not against people that do, but those whom it consumes.. that sucks. |
#18817 6Randy9 Member Posted 13 years ago |
I dont really drink but given the right situation I might. I am 26, graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in computer science. Right now, I am in grad school getting an MBA and I work full time in new orleans doing I.T. stuff. |
#18822 danhezee Administrator Posted 13 years ago |
I'm not consumed and I don't get to do it as frequent as I want to. |

I'm 17 right now. I go to a poor school in a dried up city. More and more wealthy people keep moving out and my highschool has been down-graded twice in the last three years now. We now occupy a former middle school. Being in the city, it's full of mostly minorities. (which I don't have a problem with but I generally don't socialize with as well.) This place is really small: my class is about 66 kids. It's a vocational school, so mostly males go there who want to learn automechanics or welding or some trade type of thing. To give you an idea of the dichotomy between me and my peers, I'm the only junior of one of seven people in Calculus. I also took physics my freshman year with the same seven kids who are a grade above me. Ultimately, it's hard to make friends in an environment like this. I kind of explained this in another thread, but I turned to alcohol and pot as well in my sophomore year, which I suppose contrary to you guys I saw detrimental to my lifestyle. TBH I never would have had the few relationships I had without them, but considering most of my attempts at love were founded through partying, there wasn't much depth in them at all and most of the time finished with nothing but one or a few dates between us. I'll be going to a college with a population of 90% clean upperclass white people. I've always heard that these kinds of folks are conceited and out of touch with the poor, but I suppose ignorance is bliss. I've been in with "the crowd" and I've been out of it. I've been a part of nearly every group and title you could put on a teenage boy, and time and time again I've aspired only to be surrounded by people with as much or more intellect than me. I unfortunately think I tie this with race too often. When I travel to my track meets and see all of the happy white stangers around me, I feel like I'm a part of the Matrix. I've been living a lie my entire life and all around me in the suburbs and country are a whole different kin of world. These people look like they don't have problems. Their utmost concern is "is mommy and daddy going to buy me a car for my 16th birthday?". I know it's foolish to look at the world this way but to me (and while I don't exactly like the idea of being spoiled) it's the only answer I have as to why I'm attracted to people who are much worse off than I am and who are throwing their life away. So no, it's not fun. When I get out of here I wont miss it a bit. I'll get a degree in one kind of engineering or another. My plan/goal is to work on and design weaponry one day. I have a feeling it will make me powerful. Probably not a healthy aspiration hmm? =/ |

20, I'm still procrastinating on dropping a class at Indiana State University, and I'd love to get the hell out of the house. |

Oh Canada you crazy bastard. |
#19128 Sasquatch Member Posted 13 years ago |
@Sasquatch- yeah, growing up in shitty neighborhoods and in failing school districts really sucks. Luckily I got accepted to this amazing private school... I feel bad for the kids that want a good education/safe school but can't have that. I like in a bad neighborhood myself, so I know what you mean. I've just completely stayed away from weed and alcohol. So I'm like you in those few ways. |

Probably not healthy, but quite wealthy imho :p |

Oh I'm well aware of that. People tend to make out their problems to be worse than they really are. Right now my problem is my stomach has nothing in it. |

We need more personal thought invoking threads like these tbh. Forum games like "ban the user above you" or "guess what I ate for breakfast today" or "lets count to a million" are never good for more than two posts to me >_> |
