I was thinking about this while playing pinpoint the other day, what if the map maker could set the water to lava so you have to play on the land or die. It is a little boring when people just cross the water, so what if you could make bridges mandatory. |

then when the bridges get griefed the map is litteraly unplayable. |

It is possible with modified version of pyspades. Just check players z coordinate and take proper action (kill) when it points on water level. I hope someone understand that gibberish I just wrote. |

Well, I'm kinda both ways about this. Adding lava to the game would open up a lot of new gameplay possibilities. But I just don't feel it's right for an FPS game. Maybe it'd work for something like AoS, but.... until we get indestrubtible premade bridges, it'd just be a griefer's paradise, ruining the server and making the map quite literally unplayable within minutes. |

Lava could add a whole new meaning to the word "flaming" within the AoS community... spleef someone over lava and they're toast, literally (which would be hilarious the firts few times... and lame thereafter). Turning water into unusable lava would also constrict the combat dynamics of a map... on Pinpoint or Faceoff as it is now, there are two battlefields going on at the maximum and minimum heights, and the dynamic can be pretty fun. |

How about bottomless pits? |

Better than lava I guess. |

How would you fill a bottomless pit? |

With lava |

I read that as "with java" for a half a second. I would have approved. |

Java is senseless, not bottomless. |

I would much prefer movable map bounds for maps like pinpoint, the water is an important part of play when advancing on the enemy, it allows you to get in close, huck a couple of nades and maybe take a few inches. Without the water the only way to win on a cramped map like pinpoint is to massively outnumber the opponent. However, I do agree that on maps like Antic Bridge and Bridge Wars instant death at the bottom of the map may be a good thing. |

Yea, it's never the same without water. |
