Because some of these threads are getting kind of ridiculous. Soldier: Equipped with a rifle, a pick, a shovel and grenades. Rifle is a little less accurate. Grenades are thrown farther. Basically the current default, but you can't place blocks and you can't snipe as well. Sniper: Equipped with a sniper rifle, a pick and a shovel. Sniper rifle is very accurate when scoped, but it's slow and it's inaccurate if unscoped. Scope lets you see farther. Engineer: Equipped with an upgraded pick and shovel, and a pistol. Can place blocks. Pistol is basically just a weaker rifle. Upgraded pick and shovel dig faster. Good for building defenses. Gunner: Armed with a pick, a pistol and a machine gun. Machine gun is fast and powerful, but has to be deployed before use and isn't very accurate. Good for defense, or for taking out buildings. Commando: Armed with a silenced pistol, an upgraded pick and detpacks. Detpacks detonate 10 seconds after being placed, creating a large explosion that takes out any blocks or players in its blast radius. Medic: Armed with a rifle, a pick and a first aid kit. First aid kit heals wounded teammates to full health, must be dropped before use. Yeah I'm out of ideas. Thoughts? |

Good job thinking out these classes. Two problems, Commando & Engineer. First off, ANYONE should be able to place/destroy blocks. Second, I don't see a situation where the Commando is needed. Medic is good. Except, they should have 3 "heals" that heal a player to 75 health. Or, maybe 2.(needs to be tested for being overpowered, though) Snipers have been sugested before, and even said by the developer as a posibility, I think it might be overpowered. However there is a change that can make this not so. When zoomed in, the crosshairs should move in a random direction to simulate breathing. snipers would be good if the maps had a better layout and it promotes spawn camping |

If there's going to be anything like classes, I kind of like the idea of a specialization of sorts instead. Players get to pick one on connect, and can change once for every capture either team makes. Shovel: digs 25% faster The idea here is to not make a single 'class' superior over all others (so increased rifle damage or increased health is a no-go) but rather to allow people to perform a specific task slightly better. Digging tunnels will be slightly faster, builders will have to refill less often, etc. |

@mastur_grunt: Engineer is there because I figured that it's already par for the course to build something then immediately have to respawn anyway. Sniper isn't really that powerful - the only real advantage over the current rifle is that the ironsights zoom in a little more. |
