  • Admin Voting System?
  • 12

Well, I've been talking in the chat with many users of this forum (on the Lumbrojacks chat) and all most all of them think we should be able to somehow vote for which admins get into the staff, or which admins must leave the staff.

For example, a lot of people think that Lexysm's demotion was unjust but didn't get to have any say about it.

I understand that this isn't likely going to be implemented, but I think it's something to consider.

    Thank you for your time.

Agreed. I support this. Doing stuff like this can make sure moderators face some sort of consequence for committing unjust actions, *cough*likeunjustlybanningusersbecausesomebodydecidedtoplaybutthurtvictim*cough*

I'm opposed. If someone gets really out of control, then ask Ben to deal with it. With a system like this, I could potentially give myself fifty gmail accounts, fifty forums accounts, and then fifty votes against or for an admin.

Plus, I'd like to point out that some of the supporters of this idea have abused voting systems in the past.

Gmail accounts are really annoying to create and log into.
If the admin bothers you so much that you have to go through the pain of making 50 of them, I think that he does deserve the votekick.

@1337101: who are you speaking about?

It's just that many people oppose some admins that they feel are making wrong accusations and may think that said admin is not right for this staff.

Very sorry for grammar fails, I have only gotten one hour of sleep. :S

@Devas: I was going to extend the courtesy of withholding names, although if you really want me to I could withdraw that courtesy.

@VXVJaKeVXV: I haven't seen any serious problems with the way the current administration is running things. If anything, the admins aren't being stern enough (although TGM is doing a decent job against outright trolls... good work on that so far, TGM).

You kids are funny. It's Ben decision. And he can do whatever he wants on this forum. And I really see no reason to let the so called "community" decide which moderators they want. This "community" was the only reason why there is a change and why things are a bit stricter now. Which I actually like a lot. We should try to get more older people to this forum. Atm it feels like 90% is <14 years and surfs on reddit and 4chan regularly.

And btw: It's not about "being moderator" for its own sake. You should actually act and warn people if they don't behave according the forumrules. And every time I've visited the forum I saw much much bullshit and noone really cared. I hope this changes now.

@Green_Beret: Should I feel proud that I'm a good bit older than 14, and haven't even visited the reddit or 4chan sites?

@Lexsym: I'm actually pleseantly surprised you said that, since it seems like some of the supporters of this idea would like to re-admin you and let you un-ban Hitler again. Thank you.

Still, there should be SOME way we can voice our opinions and for those opinions to be taken into consideration.

@Green_Beret: he can do whatever he wants, which includes trying to apply this idea, ok?

@1337101: you can say the names if you want, but if you're referring to that incident you had with my impostor, then you can already forget about it because it was someone else using my nick.
I also wish that you'd replace "Devas" by "Devas' impostor" in that post where you wish that I get struck by lightning.

    @Lexsym: please explain?

@VXVJaKeVXV: There already is. Contact an admin or moderator if you're having trouble. Provided you state yourself clearly, politely, and not in newbish all-caps or other forms or rage-text, they will at least do you the credit of reading your message and looking into the issue.

I think that it is alright the way it is, but I think if one staff member(that isn't like a developer or something) is disliked enough for people to not want them, maybe they should leave. but it is alright the way it is, it's just a forum, it doesn't really need to be perfect

@VXVJaKeVXV: That will actually turn into a problem. There's a concerning amount of kiddies on the internet who want to go on in allcaps and junk about how proxorz they are and asking if you'll plox look at their mods, videos, etc (and raging at you when you have the nerve to tell them that their stuff sucks and they need to work on their skills).

Right, and the president of a country is just "the president of a country" right? No need to get him out if he's abusing his powers?

People DIED for you to have the right to vote for anything, so why not respect their memory and let us votekick admins?
