very cool. just two questions, where did you get the msi file used to update the game, and second of all is there any way to play in a window instead of full screen?

to junipe i got the msi file from the download link from the official website ace-spades.com
simple no need to go anywhere else for downloads or anything.
To change window/resolution right click on ace of spades and then double click on wineskin and click on set screen options, you can play around with the settings to find out what is best for you.

to Linux/ubuntu users wine has changed a lot, i am unfamiliar with linux and such but the method should still be very similar so download wineskin and i will post a tutorial and hopefully you can get it working.

Can anyone help me with updating this... I goto package contents open wineskin, click install windows software, then the latest version of AOS, then it says "Please choose main executable that is supposed to run. It doesnt bring up a install wizard or anything like that. Please help me :/

Natedawg you are suppose to select ~/program files/internet explorer/iexplore.exe and push ok. then change your name so your not deuce in the game then run the application

nope...i'm getting the same error as nate...and not sure why changing your name would fix it but tried exactly what just said to do...FAIL

again, getting a version fail response when trying to play. have another friend w/ a mac having the same issue w/ the new update

not sure why people are having problems updating the version of their game(i am currently looking into it) and some people are having an issue with connecting to games as well so i will post my working 0.49 version very soon. i know with this version of ace of spades most servers did not update until a few days after release so it is not due to your applications, tho if you do have troubles you can try installing it again. also forgot to mention that this application for ace of spades mac will only work on INTEL MACS; so intel core 2 duo's, i5's and i7's and xeon and quad core macintosh computers. no power pc mac's (eMac) sorry.

hey natedawg parallels is a good program, glad you found something that works for you. especially since it seems that you want to run more games/window programs. i perfer vmware for games but i have enjoyed using parallels as well for software programs and such. i still prefer a more native approach using wineskin especially for games. So i don't have to run a virtual machine and have it slow down my computer just to run an application. parallels will allow you to run almost anything you want so good on ya.

hello everyone glad to hear that everyone is enjoying ace of spades on the mac. i am here just to let you know of some updates. for those having problems with updating their ace of spades please download wineskin http://wineskin.doh123.com/Information.html as it will fix your problem, its a small program and just launch it once and push the update button and after it updates close it and then you can follow my instructions on how to update your ace of spades. hope you guys are enjoying ace of spades!

You don't need a special version of AOS to play on UNIX. Just install Wine.

I also wrote a guide on these very forums. Any praise or suggestions can be made in that thread :)

hello everyone it is unfortunate that people are still having problems updating and so i will update the instructions with typed directions as well as photo's. and this method using wineskin for playing ace of spades only works with intel core 2 duo mac and above. i would post the new version of ace of spades but i am running into "access denied" message so once i get everything working again i will post the new version of ace of spades here

Do you know what I do when I need to update?

"rm -r ~/.wine"
and then I reinstall AoS.

(Just clicking "repair" works, too!)
