Exactly, add a few preset backround music files so people can choose which one works for their server. It would be pretty cool.

No one was trolling. Muncher and Hanz were expressing their opinions (and my opinion as well) as how adding video filters will contribute NOTHING to the gameplay. Games don't have to look good to have players. Dwarf Fortress is nothing but a bunch of ASCII characters buts its got a gigantic userbase and (as muncher pointed out) gets the creator over $50,000 a year from donations. And its fun as hell.
Ben's time should be spend on improving the code and revamping the network code to reduce lag, and add features that contribute to the gameplay. Filters contribute nothing except making the screen a different color. WOW I CAN PLAY IN BLACK AND WHITE ITS SOOO COOOOOL.
(L.A. Noire actually has this feature, so it plays like a black and white movie.)

On a side note, adding a UI and in game server browser would be a useful add on.
Background music, idk. Not really neccessary. I usually open up winamp and play some music while I play.
