Well it's easier to rip out teeth when the target is incapacitated. |

You're the one overreacting. Getting all pissy because I strongly dislike your idea and don't want to see it implemented. Ever. |
#97620 Thunderstorm Member Posted 13 years ago |
I've never liked the idea of a pistol; unless it is overpowered, it will be useless. I wasn't too fond of the shotgun either, but I warmed up to the idea of having one in AoS. How stupid of me, it ended up being far shittier than I had hoped it would be (then again, so did the SMG). There is no need to waste your time coding something as shitty as this. Give us a proper machine gun (preferably a mounted machine gun). |

the colt 1911 has been in servic sins 1911 and present. it have been in ww1, ww2, korean and vietnam. now ive proved you wrong that pistols are carryed by soldiers. |
#97650 ante185 Member Posted 13 years ago |
...what? |
#97653 POMF Technological Solutions™ Director of Renovations Posted 13 years ago |
false the colt 1911 was in service in 1915. 1911 was when the prototype was created |
#97660 Alucard Member Posted 13 years ago |
Yes the 1911 was used during war for SPECIAL OPERATIONS/SPECIAL FORCES (ie. SAS), MILITARY OFFICERS, AND MILITARY POLICE. Now its used by LAW ENFORCEMENT like the POLICE and the FBI. NOT BY SOLDIERS. Pistols would take up space and serve no purpose than for eye candy and humiliation kills. |
#97673 Thunderstorm Member Posted 13 years ago |
btw, pistols are the most comon firearm in that world, alonge with ak |
#98770 ante185 Member Posted 13 years ago |
I think the 1911 is just an example, pistols in general is the topic. |
#98772 Luna Member Posted 13 years ago |
^^yeah finely somebody tthat understands me |
#99453 ante185 Member Posted 13 years ago |
Really? Pistols are the most common firearms for private ownership, while AK's are the most common assault rifle for armed forces. Big difference. Stop playing CoD already. Once again, your idea for sidearms would "take up space and serve no purpose than for eye candy and humiliation kills." |
#99540 Thunderstorm Member Posted 13 years ago |
actually the most common gun in the world is the 30-30 lever action rifle dude |
#99542 Alucard Member Posted 13 years ago |
you to: fuck off. its.a.fucking.game.idiots. |
#99556 ante185 Member Posted 13 years ago |

#99575 Luna Member Posted 13 years ago |
Why are you telling us its a game? You're the one that's getting all buttmad because we don't like your ideas. Obviously we need to tell YOU that it's just a game. |

#110018 ante185 Member Posted 13 years ago |
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ldh99rtnpx1qfvj6to1_400.jpg You seem pretty mad to me :P Anyways, dude, a pistol would be useless. Sorry, but there's no point in Ben wasting his time on a worthless "Backup" weapon, when he could be working on something that could improve the game, like helicopter hats. Or mounted machine-guns, either one. |

Boyo, overall, rifles are the most made firearm. Pistols would be completely and utterly useless though in the situation that they have to be used in. |

thunder is a dumb-ass that's all i am saying his initial proof that revolvers are more accurate is non existent in that scenario its the shooters skill not the weapons accuracy. an auto loader will in most cases be more accurate than a revolver because a revolver's bullet must jump from the chamber in the cylinder to the barrel. The bullet is slightly deformed during this action because the chamber and barrel's forcing cone are never in exact alignment An auto loaders chamber and barrel are one piece eliminating this problem. In my experience I can shoot a tighter grouping with my S&W built 1911 then a S&W bodyguard and the bodyguard I had came with a laser sight they are both chambered in .38 that said on the topic of ammo and restock dose it HURT the game to add it? it will make some people happy and the people who don't like them don't have to use them. a pistol would be a welcome item if it had unlimited reserve ammo but the pick axe hit harder. remember allot of times people will not be able to access there victims bodies for one reason or another. |

^^ohh thanks, now i can stop trolling thunder XD |
#111678 ante185 Member Posted 13 years ago |
Unless you manage to shoot 60 rounds of rifle ammo and miss every single shot, I don't see that situation occuring. From what I understand, most people don't want a pistol as it'll take up space and won't serve a purpose other than some fancy eye candy weapon or a humiliation weapon (ie. "HAHA I ONE SHOT YOU WITH MY WEAK PISTOL YOU MAD BRAH?"). In regard to the revolver vs. semi automatic pistol accuracy, you seem to have gotten your argument against thunder from "http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081001071316AA7Hhd7" via C&P, meaning you did not write this and most likely, you probably don't know what you're saying. You trolling Thunderstorm? More like thunderstorm trolling you, seeing as how mad you were getting because he didn't like your idea. Personally I don't want pistols in the game, Thunderstorm covered all of it and then some. |

I am not claiming its completely inaccurate I run a 7 inch pattern with my SW1911 vs the 10 inch pattern with the bodyguard on targets approximately 20 meters away. now I have heard a lot of people cite barrel length and know what, I did not really know what the effect of a longer barrel really was I could think of a few things it would do like lengthening the rifling but according to some people the length of the rifling dose not necessarily matter any way about 50 % of people think barrel length matters and the other half think it dose not so from what I get from all this is that I REALLY depends on the type of bullet and all that shizaz some one claims to have seen some one shoot the same accuracy with a short barrel and a long barrel did not see any citation so its doubtful evidence mostly what I can see barrel length effecting is sight radius and the barrels length if you add enough to it can counter recoil similar to muzzle weights. |

Having a pistol would only delay the death of your ammo supply. The only thing that a pistol would possibly be useful for can be prevented entirely by watching your ammo counter and going back to the tent when you're low on ammo. I don't see why people are still suggesting this. In terms of usefulness, a non-overpowered pistol would be on par with inflatable dartboards. There's no way to properly balance them and still have them serve a well-defined purpose. |
