#39: Use the fortifications of the enemy against them. Normal trenches are in general usable by everybody, and forts often are so closed that you can easily sneak in. Towers are especially easy. Snipe them from afar, then sneak in the tower, and then kill (green) soldiers until they notice that their 'safe' tower isn't so 'safe' anymore. #40: Most people find it easier to aim when they are in a relaxed mood. Don't get hyped up, and if possible, play some music. Not to hard, though, or you may not hear shots and digging. |

#42: Spend some time making dummy intel spots. From the map, you can't really tell any difference at all. Really hinders the enemy from getting the right intel spot. |

43. Learn to sneak around. This could lead to a more successful killings. |

Im new to the game and this guide is helping a lot! Heres a tactic that helps me a lot. 47. DONT GET CAUGHT WITHOUT YOUR GUN. I play on the green team and I see so many blue builders make this mistake. Some walk around with bricks out instead of their guns, and they make easy targets. If your just trying to get from one place to another, just remember your only means of attack or defense is your gun. So if your not building or digging, KEEP YOUR GUN OUT. |
#6693 Project 666 Member Posted 13 years ago |
"blue builders" I didn't know that you could use those two words together in the same sentence. Anyways, for the topic: 48. Talk to your team. This is not a freakin' free for all game. There is a team speak command for a reason. |
#6701 Traeg Member Posted 13 years ago |
49. Keep moving. Your tracers will give you away and if you hang out in the same spot, eventually you will get found and killed. Try to change your shooting position every few kills, at least. |
#6801 iamthemoose Member Posted 13 years ago |
50. If you die, don't stress or get angry. Just calm yourself down and do NOT repeat what you did last time that got you killed. I've died too many times doing this, and calming down really helped me. |

Amazing, hopefully this'll help. (I'm an idiot! XD) |

#48.1 : Talk to your team, especially if you were the last one (or one of the last) guarding the intel and got killed (except if you spawned near enough of it), a simple "intel" will catch your teammates' attention. #51. (This one can be argued) Don't be that scared of water; it might make noise and slow you down, but it also lowers your level and bridges can make good hideouts. So, in some situations (noisy base, group attack, etc.), it is actually a useful route. Some obvious things that might not be known by some: #54. When your intel got captured, no need to stay at your base; you have nothing to lose/protect. Attack! (The last two might contradict each others, act in consequence) Yes, I had a lot to say to future/past teammates |

#56 Reload once you get out of a fight. A full mag gives you more attempts at taking out enemies and can save you in a sustained battle. Once I take out my target, if there aren't more enemies visible, I reload. |

58. Do *not* let the enemy build a spider tower. Like Starcraft 2, constant harrassment is essentially the best tactic. Once a decent spider tower is built it becomes very difficult to take the intel without a concerted team effort. |
#7540 Bede Member Posted 13 years ago |
i don't agree with the 3, i like building fortresses(but i never make colored buildings, my objective is to make functional and sometimes good looking bunkers/fortresses) |
#7543 papixx Member Posted 13 years ago |
48.2. Talk to your team. This is not a freakin' free for all game. There is a team speak command for a reason. Also, make your command simple and easy to understand. If your sees blues on D5 for example, type like: "blue, D5" Or, if you need a assist from, lets say, player no. 12, on B6: "12, need assist, B6" |

1. I don't care how much you like ducking, unless you use it with movement, you're fucked. Ducking is indeed the fastest movement in the game, but it does you no good if they're aiming at your body, it's very usable in combat to put off someone's aim of you. Nice generalization, I'm always top of the player list, and no, cover doesn't apply to me at all, I've camped maybe twice. We probably have very different styles of play, I jump right into the battle, and I assume you pop heads through hiding. My style is getting me top score, and plenty of intel caps so I'm going to stick with it. As for the person who said strafing doesn't affect accuracy, that's both true and not. When strafing, recoil is increased, when jumping, recoil is further increased. Not sure what walking does to modify recoil, but crouching reduces recoil. This still doesn't offset the effectiveness of strafing, jesus, it happened many times where there's a shooting squad trying to hit me for 10,15 seconds straight. Want to know why I didn't die? I'll give you a hint, it has nothing to do with ducking. Can we at least agree ducking is useless in Quake Live? |

#59 DO NOT waste time building useless things. Build smart and think if it will help your team. A huge fort on the other side of map won't do much good. Also, unless you want to look like an idiot, do not make swastikas or dicks. Even if you want to look like an idiot, do it elsewhere. |
#7649 Finshades Sniper Posted 13 years ago |
Bump Also, I definitley agree with 59, just recently nearly half of my team was building a tower the builders kept assuring us was helping with defense, apparently oblivious to the fact that while they were building the rest of us were getting pushed back and eventually got stuck into a spawn camp that took almost half an hour to break. What's worse was that the tower was nowhere near our intel or the enemy, so it did nothing for us anyway. |

#60 a little preparation can net you more kills than jumping in and shooting everyone around. move away after EVERY kill. if the enemy sees your tracers, but does not see you, he will assume he didn't see it, but only thought he did. thus i kill, move away, wait, go back, kill, etc... this usually makes me one of the top players. plus, it works if your reflexes aren't the best (like me). this nets me 25+ kills, usually. #61 use your brain. |

61. (sorry for stealing your number, just i think that should be a first/last tip, not median. I cannot stress this enough to my own team. Some idiot on the aloha server took to heart on telling everyone where my tunnels end and start and it caused havoc, what could have been used as a great weapon against green was ruined because some DUECE on blue team ruined it. |

64. Headshots, headshots, headshots. Learn how to drill those azure helmets and thereby both save ammo and enable rapid second target acquisition; in other words, shoot their inferior blue faces off in order to shoot more faces off faster. |

too many rules so: rule #0 know your place You should be able to act as part of your team with minimal communication. An organized assault requires talking - but most tasks do not require any. You shouldn't have to be told to defend the intel. Look on the map, and see who is defending the intel, and decide whether you should go help. I have saved a team from losing the lead by being the only person who looked at the map and thought "maybe someone should be over there" By the same token, if you see someone building (a useful structure), don't go over and pull out your blocks. Go over and cover them! This way they are less likely to be killed while building, enemies are less likely to sneak through your base, and the structure will be finished more efficiently meaning that player can move on to another task more quickly. |

65: caught in a shoot out? well dig down and crouch, right click on dirt or w/e is matching with a block and place it dig down and tunnel out also my favorite thing to do is make a high up sniper spot inside a mountain, with 2 teammates searching inside the mountain with intel, HELL guys just make a thing where you take turns searching for enemys around your intel! |

#19615 Kaede-chan (かえでーちゃん) Imageboard Moderator Posted 13 years ago |
67. Sneaking worth more than killing! If you are behind enemy lines, and spotted an enemy soldier that didn't notice you, don't shoot, just sneak forward! If you kill him, you won't know, where will he respawn, while he will know, where he died, and will come for a revenge. Moreover, the trace of your bullet could be noticed by another enemy soldier, who can attack you from anywhere. And at last, if you let your victim leave to your team's side, there will be one less enemy soldier at his intel. |

#19632 Naka lewd Posted 13 years ago |
Some kind of a half-tip because I don't know if it's actuallly true: Try to get out of cover on the right side of the blocks. Since your guy is holding the gun in his right hand you don't have to move your whole body out there. But when you're going out to the left side, you become visible before you even see anything. |
#19658 mizzu Member Posted 13 years ago |
69. Switching to the other team to grief is a great tactic. And should be used extensively. |
