1. As everybody else is saying, night and day cycles would make the game more fun and add new strategy elements. But they'd have to be short. 2. Ladders. For when somebody sends the blue base to the bottom of the map...again. Also, it'd give better camouflage for tunnels, so instead of having stairs that anybody can see, there will only be a 1x1 hole leading down to your massive underground bunker. 3. Maybe give that river a current. As it stands, it's more like a moat. Flowing water would make traversing the river more difficult and make bridges more valuable. |

@Norie Back to the topic at hand. Day night cycles about 10-15 min long would be nice.. maybe even a blue sky would be nice also.. I feel like im playing in the land of mist were its foggy all the time. ( i know there small maps so the fog add limit range for that reason but nce bigger maps are allowed id like to see sky.) Also the Barb blocks are a nice idea, Id like to see those. and tunnels collapsing that are unsupported or something (if possible) would be nice. Oh and ladders yes defiantly need those. Blocky stairs just don't cut it. TnT isent really a good idea. It would just be abused but land mines. hehe oh boy the defensive use that would make. A nice barbed mine field would make getting that intell a little harder. But the three Most Things id like to see ported over from minecraft are... |

Melee weapon could just be a tool though. Signs- We can now label things |

After playing Minecraft for a couple days I can post in this thread 1.FLOWING FREAKING WATER |

Wasn't it rumoured that satchel charges were coming, though? you wouldn't need TNT blocks if that were the case. I'd say 10-15 minutes each for day and night sounds about right. Day's won't drag on too long, and nights are -just- long enough to mount a raid into the enemy base and back again under nightfall. Even if they turn out to be useless, I'd love to see searchlights. Just for atmosphere. Of course if they could be used to actually help spot enemies then all the better. |

1. Ladders 3. Weather. It would be awesome if it rained every so often and then you would slip around. |

minecarts? |

Night/Day wouldn't be too hard for the maker to program, make the fog thicker, and everywhere darker I also highly approve of spotlights, that sounds cool |

The ability to control the flow of water (creating waterfalls and moats and such)... Maybe even the different strengths of blocks... Traps |

Making the fog thicker at night makes sense. Personally I wouldn't mind either way if it got thicker or not. Even if it stayed the same it would probably still work well. |

I play minecraft since jan2011 so... > Ladders, for better defense structures and easier attacking rush And less useful, some building elements, like doors, signs and window (transparent block) |
#8981 kilbane Member Posted 13 years ago |
I just can't see a melee weapon working in the rifle friendly environment we've got going at the moment. Glass would be kind of fun though- it'd be completely useless, but attach a good breaking sound to it and enemies might not be able to resist shooting out windows even if it exposes them. |

I don't like the idea of day/night cycles. I didn't come here for a realistic simulation, I came here to have fun. I hate straining to see in the dark, and it'd encourage cheating of sorts by upping the gamma. |
#10237 Loaf Member Posted 13 years ago |
You've seen how night works in Minecraft though, right? it doesn't really reduce your visual range at all, and is FAR from a realistic simulation (especially what with night only lasting 10 minutes...) Hell it could even be done the 60's movie way where all it does is put a blue filter over the screen to make it LOOK nightish. |
#10241 Beret Commando Posted 13 years ago |
I have seen how it works in minecraft. It is way too dark. |
#10259 Loaf Member Posted 13 years ago |
Well that's fair enough. A cosmetic nighttime would fit. |
#26817 Beret Commando Posted 13 years ago |
the svd gun mo- oh, nvm |
#26887 galaxysc9 Member Posted 13 years ago |
Talk about necrobump. Day/night cycle (cosmetic or otherwise), trees (the same blocks as the rest of the map, only in tree-shaped formations, as an optional natural feature on the maps), and climate (as a full-map cosmetic change). |

1. I think some sort of demolition explosive would okay as long as it couldn't be placed on your side of the map (to stop greifers from wrecking your forts). I'm tired of running up to enemy bases and trying to break the supports and just getting shot down, when i could just plant some TNT and run for cover then remote detonate it or shoot it to make it go off. |
#26896 Fig Member Posted 13 years ago |
I've dismissed the idea of a large explosive charge as grieferfest before, but the idea of only making it placable in enemy territory makes it a bit more reasonable. The only problem is that on vanilla maps, blue tends to build a lot of bunkers overlooking the river, in the "Green" half of the map. Those would all be griefable. So I guess I still think it's grieferfest. It's a good idea, but it's been ruined by a bunch of jerks who would definitely abuse it. |

Creepers, but instead of being a failed attempt at a pig we change that, and instead of going ssssss they all say DERKA DERKA. |

Bahahaha. |

Barbed Wire should be cool. |
#26947 GeneralE Commander in Arms Posted 13 years ago |
Yeah good point about the charge only working in the enemy's half of the map. In the case of blues overlooking the green base, they're mostly too preoccupied with spawncamping to try taking each other out, but if a griefer decided to level a few spawncamping cliff bunkers, it'd probably be the one time I'd side with the griefer. So I think the half map charge rule would work fine. If you're not constantly on the move in enemy territory then you're probably not interested in helping out your own team anyway. |

A better shading system, making caves more realistically dark and, obviously, shadows. |
#27193 SpazDragon1397 (コバルト) The Badass Pony Posted 13 years ago |
a few things could work with the day & night cycle when firing gun a big flash of light can be seen (nuzzle flash) and a flashlight to add to the gun. only 10 min cycle. TNT is a bit to practical. maybe throw-able dynamite sticks. with a big bang. |
#27268 LancerG2 Member Posted 13 years ago |
ladders, Torches, and Night Vision goggles (if there is Night/Day cycle) |

1.tnt 2.flint and steel 3.diamond pick and shovel |
#27332 Mods_Man Member Posted 13 years ago |
i have nothing against nighttime cycles as long as they implement light sources first. TnT for large block removal that could only be used on structers that have atleast a 3x1x3 wall and i on the opposite side of the map would be great light sources mines |
