I'm fairly certain Ben said AoS is more inspired by Vietnam, anyways, which makes a little more sense, since that doesn't make any of the in-game items anachronisms (technically, the MP5 went into production before the end of the Vietnam War, although it was never used in Vietnam). Still, AoS isn't really a specific war. It's got a German G-43 and MP-5, a rather vague shotgun (someone correct me if they've found a definite inspiration for the shotgun), and what looks to be an American Mk. 2 grenade, which fails to fit any major conflict unless I'm greatly mistaken.
Besides, how can you add a jeep and not have it be a Willys?

I think a Kübelwagen or Schwimmwagen would be the coolest jeeps, there will always be re-skins, so that is fine
