It's not about destroying blocks, it's about doing it to piss people off and ruining the fun for everybody else.

If you want to destroy blocks, destroy the ones in A1, or, to actually be constructive and help, carve tunnels.

Why do people get all worked up when you destroy there stupid buildings I thought this game was about killing people and destroying one race and anything in my way for pleasure I guess this isn't WWII .

Uh, if your team-mates build something autistic at the edge of the map, destroying it is definitely griefing. If I catch anyone doing it I'll ventilate their skull ;)

barging in and destroying as many enemy structures as you can: A TACTIC
sneaking in from a flank and attacking: A TACTIC
tunneling underneath enemy territory: A TACTIC
griefing: NOT A TACTIC

Griefing is not a tactic it can be an underhanded form of cheating and is also one way to completely ruin this game. It is dumb that you think otherwise

Griefing is totally a tactic like when there some one on my team i don't like hiding behind cover i destroy his cover and watch him get killed then i do my evil laugh and do it all over again.

In war it does not matter if you like a person on your team or not. It is about whether you win the battle or you lose. Unless the person is griefing or teamkilling, at which point u have every right to kill him. But you do not need to grief to do that. Adding to my list.

That is not a tactic, it is killing for no reason other than "you don't like them" unless they are doing something overly bad you have no reason to kill them off.

If there's somebody on your team you don't like, guess what you can do?

Sapping is destroying the enemies buildings without teamswitching. Seems legit to me! I agree with Reuben in that it is silly to argue otherwise.

An example would be.

Blue player builds sniping tower.
Green player shoots blue player and knocks down sniping tower.
No team switching involved.

I think most of the controversy over if it is legit or not stems from people not knowing what sapping means and thinking it is team switch greifing.

Sapping is like, when you dig under a castle wall and light your tunnel support beams on fire to collapse it. If it's a big enough tunnel it a section of the wall comes down.

If you're talking about griefing enemies, then yes, that's a tactic. But if you're on the blue team and you destroy the blue teams base, that's not a tactic, and you don't deserve to see it fall down. You deserve to be IP banned from AoS forever. And slapped in the face. With a fish.

Making the game less fun for everyone but yourself is a good way to kill the community.

Griefing is to the point where I destroy 1 block I feel doesn't need to be there and I am immediately reduced to a slice of swiss cheese by my own team or have a votekick initiated for me after the current running spite kick is done. It's easy to assume and it is often a safe assumption.

What is more important here? That the majority, nongriefing part of the team have fun advancing forward and perfecting their defenses, or the one or two griefers get their satisfying fill for the day, reducing their team's defenses to nothing?

Sure, it's a tactic... A tactic to PO everyone. That's all it is.

If these are happening to them, it is for a reason and they most likely deserve it. I do not grief my team and these things hardly ever happen to me.

If you want to destroy blocks and feel success behind it, destroy your opposing team's fortifications. DO NOT team switch to destroy their blocks, just oppose them with your team.

it is NOT cheating if you destroy enemy structures
and its is NOT cheating if you destroy cover for teammates to take the attention off yourself
BUT it is cheating if you were on green team and then change to blue team just to destroy cover for everyone and make your original team win
also if you are building a random tower then it is ok to grief it unless you are on a build only server

Griefing is a tactic if you grief the other team, if you grief your own team you just deserve to eliminated from this planet forever.

Destroying things belonging to the team you aren't currently on is legit. I will never even try to votekick anyone for this.

Destroying things belonging to the the team you are currently on is griefing, unless the structure actually turns out to be helping the enemy more than your own team. I will pretty much always try to votekick people for this.

i agree with firejetdragon, if you are caught griefing your own team, you should be shot into space
